Cruise in Company
DETAILS:
In association with RYA Active Marina and MDL, Hamble Point Saiing School will be hosting several Cross-Channel Cruise in Company events for both MDL berth holders as well as others who would like to join a flotilla and head further afield.
OVERVIEW:
Everyone is invited to join our experienced team on the evening of the Friday for a short passage planning session. One of our experienced skippers will lead the company across the Channel to France. This opportunity is perfect for sailors who have never been across the Channel before and, for their first trip, would prefer to go in the company of others.
As a rally, the yachts will sail ‘cross Channel’ and into one of the harbours along the French coast, likely Cherbourg or Alderney. On Monday our lead boat will return to Southampton, however boats can stay and continue cruising if they wish.
The cruise will be weather dependant, so if the weather is bad we’ll adjust our destination accordingly!
TRIP DURATION:
Friday – Meet at Hamble Point Marina at approx 1830. After a short passage planning exercise the boats will depart.
Saturday- Continue to a port, likely Cherbourg or Alderney. We’ll spend Saturday evening there and will have berths booked.
Sunday – free day
Monday – Return to Hamble Point
Obviously this passage is very weather dependant. If the weather dictates we cannot go across channel we will find a suitable alternative.
