The Southampton Boat Show starts next week, and with lots of exhibitors and activities for younger sailors, Britain’s biggest ‘Festival of Boating’ promises to be well worth a visit.
Hamble Point Yacht Charters will be on Stand J089 in the Ocean Hall at the Southampton Boat Show from 15-24th September and we hope you will pop by and say hello during your visit to the show.
Our team, as well as some of our customers and skippers, will be on the stand to answer any questions you may have, introduce you to the latest yachts to have joined our fleet, or help you plan your sailing, sail training or yacht management for next year.
Meet Monica Matteson
Come and meet Monica Matteson, author of the highly entertaining ‘A Capful of Wind / Useless Information for aspiring skippers’. Monica will be on our stand on Friday 15th – Sunday 17th September, to share her sailing stories and sign copies of her book.
Meet Chris Eakin
Come and meet former BBC News TV Presenter Chris Eakin, author of A Race Too Far, the epic story of Donald Crowhurst in the Golden Globe race. This is the untold story behind one of the greatest adventures of modern times. Nine men, including Crowhurst, raced to be the first to sail round the world single-handed. Only one succeeded. For more than 40 years, the families who were hit by tragedy have hidden from public curiosity. Now, Chris Eakin has spoken to them all. He discovers the Crowhurst family have feared a “lifetime of ridicule”. A Race Too Far brings alive the drama of the adventure and, for the first time, its full human cost. The book has now been made into a film ‘The Mercy’ starring Colin Firth and is soon-to-be-released.
