Mile Building Cruises

Mile Building Cruises have been created to give you an opportunity to cross the Channel under the guidance of an experienced instructor.

During your Mile Building Cruise the yacht will normally set sail on Friday evening and complete an overnight passage to Cherbourg arriving mid morning on Saturday. Saturday afternoon is usually free for you to either catch up on sleep or explore the city and purchase some wine! The yacht will set sail on Saturday evening for an overnight passage back to maybe Poole where she will arrive Sunday lunchtime heading back to the Solent on Monday.

Both passages will give the opportunity to experience (and skipper) offshore sailing and navigation, watch keeping and of course negotiating the busy English Channel shipping lanes.

The three and four day trips will follow a similar pattern but will take in other ports of call such as Alderney, St Vaast and possibly Guernsey.

All of our courses have a maximum number of three candidates on board so to ensure you receive a high level of support and tuition. Our courses also include moorings, fuel, catering including the first evening plus loan of wet weather clothing.
