We’ve teamed up with Unity Sailing to offer some fantastic race training courses throughout the 2023 season. Ideal for upskilling and progressing to heading up your own team to race, throughout the weekend you’ll receive specialist training from a professional coach or skipper and take your sailing to the next level.
Sunfast Training and Racing Weekend
Standard drills include:
- Hoists, drops, and sail changes
- Tacking and gybing
- Using asymmetric spinnakers and code zero
- Upward and downward sailing
- Trimming for points of sail
- Reefing and under-sail
- Sail handling and packing
Double and Shorthanded Training
These weekends are ideal for upskilling and handling the boat when only two of you are on board.
The weekends are run with two teams, sharing the cost of the reduced crew size. This allows the coaches to run short and double-handed training manoeuvres.
Pre-requisites
- Previous training on a Sunfast fully crewed is advised for best results.
- A good understanding of general boat and sail handling, foredeck, and helming is advised to allow the best results from your weekend.
